Branson show has entertained audiences for 50 years

Author: Branson, Missouri is the self-proclaimed Live Entertainment Capital of the World. And rightly so, with more than 40 theatres and nearly 100 different shows. Yet there’s one show that continues to stand alone.
Based on actual events surrounding the complicated lives of the early Ozark pioneers, The Shepherd of the Hills remains Missouri’s number one historical attraction and a show to be remembered by the entire family.
Hosted at the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theatre, the show is based on author Harold Bell Wright’s epic story of love, loss, power, hardship, and the true meaning of life. The amazing performance includes more than 80 actors, 40 horses, a flock of sheep, several guns and rifles, an actual burning log cabin, and a vintage 1908 DeWitt automobile.
Originally published in 1907, the book is one of the first million-selling publications in the U.S. and the work truly sparked the beginning of tourism in the Branson area and the beautiful Ozark Mountains. The book has been translated into 7 languages and made into 4 movies.

Check out Branson Landing
While best known for its never-ending list of live shows and outstanding outdoor recreation amidst the scenic area lakes, Branson Landing is one entertainment and shopping center you won’t want to miss.
A short walk from the Branson tourism district, Branson Landing features a scenic boardwalk stretching 1.5-miles along picturesque Lake Taneycomo. At the heart of the Landing is a vibrant town square that terraces down to a $7.5 million water attraction.
The spectacular display of water, fire, light and music is nothing short of dazzling. With fountains shooting 120-foot geysers and fire cannons blasting, it’s all uniquely choreographed to dancing lights and music.
The fountain spectacular takes place at the top of the hour from Noon to 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and from Noon to 11 pm Fridays and Saturdays, weather permitting.

Branson’s Hot Winter Fun Big Show
Branson, MO is known for its family friendly live entertainment. From music of all genres to comedy, magic and more, Branson offers over 40 theaters and more theater seats than Broadway.
